Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice
  • 1/2 cup urad dal
  • 1/2 cup chana dal

Method

  1. Wash the rice, urad dal, and chana dal in water and soak them in enough water for 6-8 hours.
  2. Add fenugreek seeds to the soaked ingredients and grind them into a fine batter by adding enough water.
  3. Add salt to taste and mix well.
  4. Let the batter ferment for 8-10 hours or overnight in a warm place.
  5. Heat a non-stick pan on medium heat and spread some oil.
  6. Pour a ladle full of batter onto the pan and spread it in a circular motion to make a thin dosa.
  7. Add some oil on the sides of the dosa and cook until it turns golden brown.
  8. Flip the dosa and cook for another minute or until it turns golden brown.
  9. Remove the dosa from the pan and serve hot with chutney, sambar, or any other side dish of your choice.
  10. Repeat the process with the remaining batter to make more dosas.

  • The batter should be fermented well for a good taste and texture.
  • Adding fenugreek seeds gives a nice aroma and flavor to the dosa.
  • Adjust the amount of water while grinding the batter to get the right consistency.
