- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp. olive oil

- Frying pan

Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Peel the plantains and slice them diagonally into 1/4 inch pieces.
- In a frying pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned.
- Add the onion, garlic, oregano, cumin, paprika, tomato paste, salt, and pepper. Cook until the onions are translucent.
- Add the tomato sauce and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- Grease a baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
- Arrange a layer of plantains on the bottom of the dish.
- Add a layer of beef mixture on top of the plantains.
- Sprinkle a layer of cheddar cheese on top of the beef mixture.
- Add another layer of plantains, beef mixture, and cheddar cheese.
- Add a final layer of plantains and mozzarella cheese on top.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let the dish cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can also use ground turkey or chicken instead of beef.
- If you don't have tomato paste, you can use ketchup as a substitute.
- You can add sliced olives or chopped cilantro as a garnish.
