Ingredients

Method

  1. First, take a mixing bowl and add rice flour, grated coconut, cardamom powder, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Mix all the ingredients well and keep the mixture aside.
  3. Take a pan and add jaggery and water to it.
  4. Heat the mixture on low flame and stir it continuously until the jaggery dissolves completely.
  5. Now, strain the jaggery syrup to remove any impurities.
  6. Add the jaggery syrup to the rice flour mixture and mix well to form a smooth batter.
  7. Now, add ghee to the batter and mix well.
  8. Grease a cake tin with ghee and pour the batter into the tin.
  9. Steam the cake for around 25 minutes in a steamer.
  10. After steaming, remove the cake tin from the steamer and let it cool down.
  11. Once the cake is cooled, cut it into pieces and serve.

Notes

  • Make sure to stir the jaggery syrup continuously to avoid burning.
  • You can also add chopped nuts like cashews and almonds to the batter to enhance the flavor.
  • Store the cake in an airtight container to keep it fresh for longer.
